Brawl Breaks Out At Southington Tavern
Residents of Meriden, Hartford and Berlin were charged after a tavern altercation in Southington.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Several combatants in a weekend tavern fight in Southington are facing criminal charges, police said.
The altercation broke out Friday at Tavern 42, located at 42 West Main St. in the Plantsville section of Southington, police said.

According to a report, a large group was sitting at a table in the restaurant when 36-year-old Hiran Sepulveda, of Berlin, became involved in a verbal dispute with another man. The man punched Sepulveda in the face and a shoving match subsequently broke out involving several people, including Raul Maldonado, 36, of Meriden.
Surveillance video from inside the restaurant shows the unidentified man flee out a back door with a woman, according to a report. Maldonado then took a plate from a table and swung it at the head of (removed) which led to (removed) striking Maldonado in the face several times.

The surveillance video shows (removed) continuing to go after Maldonado as people were trying to separate them, police said.
No serious injuries were reported.
Maldonado and (removed) were both issued a misdemeanor summons for second-degree breach of peace. They were released on a $2,500 non-surety bonds and are scheduled to appear in New Britain Superior Court on Oct. 28, police said.
Sepulveda was charged with second-degree breach of peace and then interfering after pushing an officer, police said. He was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in New Britain Superior Court on Oct. 28, police said.
As of Tuesday morning, the man who originally struck Sepulveda in the face had still not been identified, police said.
