Bullet Casing Walks Into Southington School

A bullet walked its way into a Southington school building on Monday.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A bullet casing was found in a Southington school building on Monday and it wound up there under innocent circumstances, police said.

On Monday at 10:53 a.m., police received a call about an expended. 22-cal. bullet shell casing found on the floor in the technical education wing at DePaolo Middle School, authorities said.

Administrators were able to narrow down the students who had access to the area and, it turned out, a student inadvertently tracked the shell casing into the area in the treads of a shoe, police said.
