<p>The 22nd annual "Touch-A-Truck" event is proudly co-sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 72 and the Town of Southington&nbsp;Recreation Department. This year's event will be held on <strong>Saturday, May 16, 2026</strong> <em>(rain date: Sunday, May 17)</em>.</p>
<p>The event takes place on the grounds of the Southington&nbsp;Drive-In at 995 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike, Plantsville&nbsp;and runs from <strong>10:00 AM to 2:00 PM</strong>. The admission fee is <strong>$4.00 per child</strong> (no fee for accompanying adults).</p>
<p><strong>NEW!</strong> This year, <strong>10:00-11:00 AM</strong> will be designated as a <strong>sensory-friendly quiet hour</strong>. During this time, there will be no horns, sirens, or flashing lights. Those wishing to participate with full sound &amp; light effects should plan to attend between the hours of 11:00 AM-2:00 PM.</p><p><b>If you wish to participate in this event with a vehicle, please call Tracy (American Legion Auxiliary contact) at 860-681-9652.</b></p>

<p>This year, we’re bringing the community together not just to walk, but to gather for a&nbsp;<strong>Purple Picnic</strong>&nbsp;celebration afterward (Food&nbsp;provided by EFCT).</p>
<p>This family-friendly event is all about connection, support, and showing our strength as a community. Walk alongside individuals and families impacted by epilepsy.</p>
<p>Vendors will be on site sharing resources, services, and information designed to support those living with epilepsy and their caregivers. Whether you’re coming to honor a loved one, meet others who understand your journey, or learn more about epilepsy, we can't wait to see you!</p>
<p>Any teams who fundraise $100 or more, will receive a free sign with their team's name on it!</p>
<p>Wear your purple, and join us for a meaningful day of awareness, advocacy, and community.</p>

The United Church of Christ Southbury

<p>UCC Southbury invites the community to join them for the 50th Annual Southbury Strawberry Festival on the spacious Church Green, located at 283 Main Street North, in Southbury, CT, to be held on Saturday, June 6th, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (rain or shine).</p>
<p>There will be fresh strawberry shortcakes with homemade whipped cream, live music by Band o’ Brothers, Nick Depuy and Adelaide Punkin, assorted baked goods, grilled foods and Food Trucks including Cousins Maine Lobster and Red Apple Catering with Ben &amp; Jerry’s Ice Cream on hand. Also featuring raffle prizes, Kids Zone bouncy house, games and activities, and 40 different vendors and artisans for interested shoppers. </p>
<p>We encourage all attendees to take advantage of the <b>FREE PARKING SHUTTLE</b><b> </b>from 22 Old Waterbury Rd (only 500 yards away).</p>
