American International College, Springfield MA

• American International College (AIC) has named 463 students to the spring 2019 Dean's List. Dean's List students are full time students who have achieved a 3.3 to 4.0 GPA. Among those recognized are Daria Gagnon of Plantsville and Brooke Garcia of Southington.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• Two Eastern Connecticut State University students presented their research on the world stage on May 23-25 at the second annual World Conference on Undergraduate Research (WCUR) in Oldenburg, Germany. Among them was Jonathan Rappi of Southington, who majors in Biology. Rappi's research concerned cancer treatment in a presentation titled "Modeling Human Cancer Gene Interactions in Worms: A Fos-1 Transcription Factor Inhibits Odd-Skipped Gene Expression in C. Elegans." He was mentored by Biology Professor Amy Groth.

Tufts University, Medford MA

• James Hoder of Plantsville graduated from Tufts University on May 19, 2019 with a degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Magna Cum Laude during a university-wide commencement ceremony that featured an address by award-winning actress and activist Alfre Woodard.
