
SOUTHINGTON, CT — State police are investigating just how a vehicle left a section of Interstate-84 on Wednesday night and crashed into a small brook.
According to an accident report, the crash took place at 10:32 p.m. on the westbound side of the highway near Exit 32. A 1999 GMC Sierra driven by 39-year-old Confesor Rodriguez, of New Britain, veered off the road, bounced off a guardrail, continued down an embankment, hit a culvert and wound up in "a small brook."
The vehicle was resting on the driver's side when troopers arrived at the scene, a report indicates.

Rodriguez was transported by Life Star helicopter Hartford hospital and his injuries were not being described as life-threatening in a report.
The passenger, Luis Torrez, 31, of Hartford, was taken to St. Mary's Hospital via ambulance with suspected minor injuries, according to a report.
