Busy Roadway In Southington Finally Reopens After Crash: UPDATE
Local fire officials said injuries were reported.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — A one-vehicle crash into a utility pole early Friday led to road closures and reported injuries along Meriden Avenue (Route 120) in Southington, according to local fire officials.
Eventually, the roadway was able to reopen in the afternoon.
The Southington Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 2033 said crews responded at the start of the B shift to the 1000 block of Meriden Avenue for a “car vs. pole with injuries.”

The crash was reported at approximately 7:26 a.m., and the roadway was reopened by 2 p.m.
Authorities closed both directions of Route 120 (Meriden Avenue) between Beechwood Drive and Savage Street following the incident.

The extent of the injuries was not immediately available.
Eversource Electric was on scene to address damage to the utility pole and assess any impact on power infrastructure.
It was not immediately clear what caused the crash.
