
SOUTHINGTON, CT — A car slammed into a local restaurant early Monday morning, police said.
On Monday at 227 a.m. a Volkswagon Jetta operated by Nathan Cannon, 22, of Bristol, was traveling westbound on West Main Street when the car exited the roadway and struck the eastern side of the Hop Haus restaurant, police said.
Hop Haus is located at at 22 West Main St. The crash not only damaged the car, but the building as well, police said.

Police said on Tuesday that the accident is still being investigated.
The restaurant was closed on Monday and was scheduled to reopen at 3 p.m. Tuesday, a staffer who answered the phone said.
