SOUTHINGTON, CT — A commercial building in Southington with a familiar name on the marquis has been sold.

Brokerage Colonial Properties recently announced the $795,000 transaction. The building was the home of the Carrington Company for years and sits at 172 Wonx Spring Road, also known at 8 Metals Drive in the Plantsville section of town.

Michael Richetelli, the president and designated broker of Colonial Properties, said the buyers, Ryan Brechlin and Thomas Selmont, will be turning the property into an auction house.

The building measures 10,000 square feet and sits on 1.57 acres.

"The sale represents the continued demand for owner/user properties. The building will be converted from its prior use — manufacturing — to a use more conducive to today's evolving economy that is a prime adaptive reuse example," Richetelli said.
