Charges Filed In 2018 Southington Cigarette Theft
A man was charged in connection with a Southington cigarette theft that took place almost a year ago.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A man was arrested in connection with a Southington cigarette theft that took place almost a year ago.
On Monday, James Jones, 52, of New Haven, was arrested at Bristol Superior Court on an outstanding warrant, police said. At the time of the arrest Jones was incarcerated on another matter, police said.
A warrant charged Jones with third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and third0degree larcy in connection with a burglary at the Gulf gas station and convenience store at 1123 Meriden Waterbury Road on Aug. 25, 2018 police said.

The front glass had been broken using a cinder block and, once inside the store, Jones stole approximately 34 four cartons of cigarettes carrying a value of approximately $3,230, the warrant states.
