Church donates 300 handmade dresses to girls in need

Approximately 300 handmade dresses were dedicated at the June 12 worship service held at First Baptist Church of Southington, 581 Meriden Ave. This dress mission was implemented move than five years ago by church member Emily Lamy who has delivered them in the past to the poor in the Dominican Republic and this year will be taking them to several women's and children's shelters in the Northeast. Women from the church's Grandparents' Circle and as far away as Maryland joined in the project. www.firstbaptistsouthington.org
