College Accomplishments By Southington Students

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Hofstra University, Hempstead NY

• Nicholas Sciota of Southington graduated from Hofstra University in December 2018, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.

Le Moyne College, Syracuse NY

• Lauren Zazzaro, a senior Communications major from Southington, has been named to the Le Moyne College Dean's List for the fall 2018 semester. To make the list, students must achieve a GPA of 3.5 or above.

Seton Hall University, South Orange NJ

• Seton Hall University is pleased to announce a trio of students from Southington qualified for the fall 2018 Dean's list and congratulates them for their outstanding academic achievements. They are Brandon Apicella, Sarah Luczak and Jennifer Monte.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

• The WPI men's track & field team placed third at the 2019 NCAA Division III New England Championships hosted by MIT. It is the program's best indoor finish and second only to the 1987 outdoor championship team overall. The hosts earned the team crown with 164 points while Tufts was second (78) and the Engineers collected 67 points. Sophomore Matt Adiletta tied his school record with a 6.96 in the 60-meter dash as senior Antoine Harris of Southington crossed the finish line .05 seconds later (7.01), which was .01 off his PR of 7.00 in the prelims. The 4x400m consisting of junior Alex Rus, Harris, sophomore Ben Steeves and junior Nick Fleury took third in a time of 3:25.45.
