Columbus Statue Dedicated in Southington
A bust of Columbus was placed at the Southington municipal complex.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A statue of Christopher Columbus in front the municipal office complex was dedicated on Monday amid both support and protest, the Record-Journal reported.
The ceremony too place at 10:30 a.m. at the John Weichsel Municipal Center.
The bust of Columbus, sponsored by the the Calvanese Foundation and the Knights of Columbus, former Board of Education member Joseph Angelillo and other local groups with Italian roots, was put in place last month with an accompanying narrative.
