Concert Saturday To Spotlight Special Southington Musicians

The performers are part of the ARC of Southington's 'ARC Rocks Band,' with special needs musicians being joined by an area music teacher.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A very special concert is on tap Saturday in Southington as an area music instructor will team up with some special needs musicians for a "rockin' time."

The ARC of Southington's "ARC Rocks Band" will be performing with studio musician/music teacher John Ingrassia Saturday at 1 p.m. for a one-hour show showcasing the musical talens of ARC clients.

The show will take place at the ARC of Southington's headquarter, 201 West St., Plantsville.

ARC of Southington is a local nonprofit that offers programs that "serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families," according to its website.

ARC has teamed up with John Ingrassia Music out of Cheshire and the Southington Public Library for a special program in which ARC clients learn music and learn to perform.
