Connecticut Sikh Association Supports Community During COVID-19

The CSA has provided supplies, meals, and groceries during the pandemic.

Connecticut Sikh Association, Inc. (CSA) Southington, CT, a non-profit SIKH religious organization, is glad to support our local communities in these challenging times due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19. SIKHISM, a modern religion started in 1469 by Guru Nanak Dev Ji in northern Indian state of Panjab on the basic principal of ‘ONE GOD’. The main beliefs and values of SIKHISM are:

  • 100 face shields to Chelsea Health Care, Hartford, CT
  • 500 face shields to CT Emergency Preparedness via Ardent Packaging
  • 100 face shields to Seymour Emergency Department, Seymour, CT
  • 205 meals to Yale Hospital, New Haven, CT
  • 82 meals to Saint Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT
  • 50 meals to UCONN Health, Hartford, CT
  • 270 meals to Hartford Hospital, Hartford, CT
  • 150 meals and 100 face shields to Griffin Hospital, Derby, CT
  • 90 meals and 100 face shields to Southington Care Center, Southington, CT
  • $250 Grocery Donation to Bread for Life, Southington, CT
  • Food for 100 students of Southern Connecticut State University

Continuing with our belief of SEVA, self-less service to our local communities, we have planned, with the help of Southington Police Department, a Free Mask Giveaway Day on Saturday, June 13, 2020 (Rain date June 20, 2020) between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM at the South End School, 10 Maxwell Noble Drive, Plantsville, CT 06479. We would like to thank Officer Michael Baribault of Southington Police Department and Shane Lockwood of Plainville-Southington Regional Health District, for their support and cooperation in planning this event.

Traffic Procedure for mask Give away:

Vehicles will enter Recreation Park from South End Road.

Vehicles will enter the property of South End School at the main Southern entrance

Vehicles will pull up to the front of the building

A volunteer will place a plastic bag containing surgical masks inside the vehicle through an open window.

After receiving the masks, the vehicle will exit the School lot following the one way designation

There will be signage and people in place to direct vehicles through the give away process
