Cops: Southington Man Nabbed With Heroin

He was observed taking drugs, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT - A local man is facing drug charges.

Southington police on Tuesday announced the July 5 arrest of David Plourde, 31, of Southington.

He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Plourde was released on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bristol Superior Court on July 18, police said.

SPD Dispatch received an anonymous report that Plourde was observed consuming drugs and then getting into a vehicle and driving away, police said.

A description of Plourde’s vehicle was provided to dispatch and an officer observed Plourde’s vehicle in traffic on Main Street in the area of Berlin Avenue, where a traffic stop was conducted, police said.

Plourde displayed indicators of being under the influence of drugs, police said. He was then patted down and officers found five bags of heroin and a needle on him, police said.

The heroin was found in a cigarette box and the needle was in a container, police said.
