Construction Progressing On New Steakhouse In Southington

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Construction is progressing on a new Longhorn Steakhouse in Southington. A spring opening has been targeted.

The location — 1020 West St. — is already included on the Longhorn Website. It's already set up for online ordering "coming soon."

Plans for the new restuarant cleared local regulatory hurdles last spring.

Longhorn has more than 480 restaurants in 40 states. Its parent company, Darden Restaurants, owns and operates more than 1,500 restaurants that generate a reported $6.3 billion-plus in annual sales.

Longhorn is also known for its charitable contributions and restaurants have donated nearly 15 million pounds of food to local non-profit organizations across the country.
