Crash Closes Section of Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike

Police has to close down a section of Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike this morning because of a accident., the Record-Journal reported.

The crash took place just before 10:30 a.m. between between Marion Avenue and East Street.

A car struck a pole, but the driver, the only occupant of the car, was not injured, the newspaper reported.

Eversource Energy crews and first-responders were at the scene and estimated the road would be partially closed for few hours, the newspaper reported.
