Dinner with the Experts: Understanding Lymphedema
Free program focuses on lymphedema - causes, treatments and therapies. Tues., June 25, 5p, Southington Care Center, 1.855.442.4373.

SOUTHINGTON – The World Health Organization estimates that more than 250 million people worldwide live with lymphedema or chronic swelling. Lymphedema, a swelling of the arms and/or legs, can be caused by removal or damage to the lymph nodes, cancer treatment and blockage in the lymphatic system, all preventing lymph fluid from adequately draining. There is no cure but with proper therapy and treatment, lymphedema can be managed.

This event will be held 5 to 7 p.m. at Southington Care Center, 45 Meriden Ave. Presenters will be Patricia Bozeman, APRN, CVN, and Linda Hodgkins, MS OTR/L CLT-LANA, of Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network. Southington Care Center is sponsoring.
