Dump Truck Crash Cleared On I-691 In Southington: UPDATE

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A dump truck wreck on Interstate 691 in Southington resulted in that road's closure, according to the state Department of Transportation, but it is now cleared.

The DOT reports the crash happened on I-691 West between exits 5 and 7, resulting in the roadway's closure initially, but as of 4:24 p.m., just the right lane was closed.

The crash was first reported at 2:45 p.m. and it is now no longer listed on the DOT incident report.

Southington's fire department posted a video from WFSB Channel 3 that showed a large dump truck lying on its side on the highway.
