Ellington Man Gets Shovelful Of Charges Over Southington Pawn Caper

He allegedly re-sold stolen garden tools, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT - An Ellington man has been charged with three crimes stemming from the theft of garden tools he later pawned, police said.

On Friday, Justin Ashline , 25 of Ellington, was brought from Bridgeport Correctional Center to Bristol Superior Court on a warrant for his arrest, police said.

The arrest warrant charged Ashline with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree larceny and third-degree criminal mischief, police said. The arrest warrant alleges that in June of 2014, Ashline had burglarized a shed on Mt. Vernon Road in Southington, took assorted garden tools and then later sold them to a Waterbury pawn establishment.

The tools were recovered from the pawn establishment and are being held as evidence, police said.

Ashline received $185 for the pawned items, police said.
