Enjoy Some Motown At Southington YMCA Benefit

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Guests are invited to take a trip back to musical yesteryear and help out the Southington-Cheshire Community YMCA at the same time.

The local YMCA is hosting its largest party and fundraiser of the year, "Forever in Blue Jeans: A Night of Motown" at the Aqua Turf Club, 556 Mulberry St., Plantsville. It will take place Friday, Nov. 17, at 6 p.m.

Proceeds will raise needed funds to support YMCA programs as well as its YMCA Camp Sloper Capital Campaign.

"Put on your dancing shoes and get ready for a night filled with the most famous musical offspring of Detroit, spawning more than 100 soul-pop hits throughout the 1960s and 1970s," wrote the YMCA in an announcement of the event.

"You'll be partying with the greats, including Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, The Jackson 5, The Temptations, and Stevie Wonder."

This year, YMCA supporters will have the option to join the fun in person or virtually.

The in-person ticket price is $80 and includes a fun night of dinner, dancing, an open bar and live and silent auctions.

Each $40 virtual ticket allows you to participate in the silent auction.
