Expansion At Southington Manufacturer Approved
Site of C.V. Tool Co. will have a 5,000-square-foot addition.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — The site owner for a local tool manufacturer has received the go-ahead from the town to build a 5,000-square-foot addition to expand its site and operations.
The Southington Planning and Zoning Commission last month voted unanimously to approve a site plan application from Car-Sue Realty LLC for the new building, which would be on the site of operations for the C.V. Tool Co. Inc. facility.
Car-Sue owns 44 Robert Porter Road, which is home to C.V. Tool Co., a manufacturer of hardware and tools serving "a wide variety of industries including the steam turbine, nuclear, space and aircraft industries," according to C.V. Tool's website.

According to the minutes of the Aug. 16 Southington PZC meeting, the approval — which was unanimous — means increased storage and receiving of products at C.V. Tool.
In addition to the new building, the approved application allows for landscaping and lighting improvements there, as well as new drainage reconfigurations to manage stormwater runoff.
