SOUTHINGTON, CT — A fight inside a car led to charges against a Southington man, police said.

Police released details of the June 2 incident on Tuesday.

That day, Jan Willicka, 61, of Southington was charged with second-degree breach of peace and interfering with an officer, according to a report.

Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Prospect Street after receiving reports about an altercation inside a gray Subaru, according to a report. Police were told a man was hitting a woman and the woman was yelling for him to let her go, according to a report.

Responding officers located the vehicle on Mount Vernon Road, a repor indicates. Willicka refused to exit the vehicle and attempted to lock himself inside it, according to a report. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle, according to a report.

There were no injuries, police said.

Willicka was to appear in Bristol Superior Court on Tuesday, police said.
