Fire Lieutenant Placed on Leave Following Southington Schools Threatening Incident
The suspect reportedly is a lieutenant in the Bridgeport Fire Department.

The suspect arrested for making a threat against a Southington High School staff member, prompting a soft lockdown of local schools Tuesday, reportedly is a Bridgeport Fire Department lieutenant who’s now on administrative leave.
The Bridgeport Fire Department has placed Gregory R. Daly, 42, of Southington, on administrative leave pending an investigation into the circumstances of his arrest, Bridgeport’s public safety spokesman Kevin Coughlin told NBC Connecticut.
On Tuesday, Southington Police arrested Daly and seized seven guns from his home. The arrest came after an argument and threats made to the staffer that resulted in the activation of a “secure status” for four schools Tuesday morning, meaning no one could enter or exit the schools.
