Southington FD Celebrating Fire Prevention Week
All week long, the Southington Fire Department will be distribution info about preventing and dealing with fires.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — National Fire Protection Week is this week and the Southington Fire Department is planning to hook up community members with enough tips to, hopefully, not be busy fighting fires in the future.
In fact, this week marks the 100th anniversary of the National Fire Protection Association's annual week to ensure folks know how to prevent fires and what to do should one happen.
Southington fire officials, via social media, will be spending the week posting all sorts of materials that are easily downloadable and printable that people can use to educate their families.

The goal is simple: to "keep you and your families safe from the risk of fire."
On Monday, for example, the department posted a few children's activities that are both fun and serve as a means to educate about fire safety, namely creating an escape plan for their families.
