SOUTHINGTON, CT — A former Southington volunteer firefighter gone way too soon will be immortalized outside on local fire headquarters thanks to the work of a local Boy Scout.

According to the Southington Fire Department, Boy Scout Adam Ciaffaglione is literally building a memorial for the late Bruce P. Slodzinski outside Plantsville Co. 2's headquarters.

The memorial, which is under constructions, includes some concrete work as well as a brand new memorial bench in front of the firehouse, which is located on West Main Street, according to the department.
