Three Rescued From Burning Building In Southington: FD: UPDATE
The two-alarm fire badly damaged a Southington apartment building.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — Local firefighters were at the scene Friday afternoon of a two-alarm structure fire, and, though no one was hurt, three were rescued in dramatic fashion by the Southington Fire Department.
According to the Southington Professional Firefighter IAFF Local 2933, the blaze is at 28 Aircraft Road, Southington, and "rescues" are being made.
The firefighters union, which issued the brief report at about 2:30 p.m., said mutual aid units have also been called.

According to the apartments.com website, 28 Aircraft Road is a "recently renovated" luxury apartment building.
"Southington units battled high heat and zero visibility while conducting a high-risk rescue on the 3rd floor Two victims were removed from a 3rd floor window to the pitched roofline and placed into the aerial bucket of Truck 1. Engine 12, Engine 21, and mutual aid companies arrived, conducting forcible entry, search, fire suppression, ventilation, and rapid intervention operations," wrote the SFD in a statement later Friday.

The American Red Cross in Connecticut is helping four families – five adults and two children –who were displaced due to the fire.
