First Baptist Church announces Easter Week services
Easter, Palm Sunday, First Baptist Church, Maundy Thursday, worship service
SOUTHINGTON - First Baptist Church of Southington, located at 581 Meriden Ave., has announced the worship services beginning with Palm Sunday and ending on Easter Sunday. The Rev. Sharon R. Holt will lead the services. The public is always welcome.
On Palm Sunday, March 20, the 10 a.m. service will include the distribution of palms.
On Maundy Thursday, March 24, at 7 p.m., there will be a special service of remembrance, communion and prayer.
The Easter sunrise service will be held Sunday, March 27, 6:45 a.m., at the Merriman Cemetery, located on Marion Avenue at the corner of Nutmeg Drive, in the Marion section of Southington. If the weather is wet, it is recommended that worshippers wear boots.
The traditional Easter Sunday service will be held at 10 a.m. at the church and include special music, the Easter message and celebration.
