First Baptist Church’s Spud Night benefits mission work

Spud Night, auction, fundraiser, First Baptist Church of Southington, mission work

SOUTHINGTON – A Spud Night& Silent Auction on Saturday, April 29 will benefit the First Baptist Church of Southington’s mission trip planned for July. The fundraiser will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the church, located at 581 Meriden Ave.

This event features baked potatoes with toppings such as cheese, broccoli, bacon and more or “garbage can,” or homemade chicken soup as well as dessert and beverages. The Silent Auction will offer themed gift baskets and gift cards to various local businesses. This event has been very popular in previous years.

Spud Night is supporting the mission work of the church team that will travel to New Jersey to assist families affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Tickets for Spud Night are $7 per person and free for children younger than 5 years old. Tickets can be purchased at the door. For more information, call the church office at 860-628-8121 or visit the church Facebook page.
