Food Donations Sought To Fill A Truck In Southington
Southington Community Services Saturday and Sunday, April 20-21, will be collecting non-perishable food to aid those in need.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — Southington Community Services is looking to replenish its stock of food for its food bank with a special weekend event where it hopes to fill up a truck with donations.
The "Fill-A-Truck" event will take place Saturday and Sunday, April 20-21, at the Plantsville Congregational Church, 109 Church St., Plantsville.
Various non-perishable food donations will be collected from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on both days.

According to Southington Community Services, several food items are being sought.
Those include baking items (flour, sugar, etc.); canned fruit; shelf milk; children's snacks; soup; dinner sides (rice, mashed potatoes mix, etc.); canned foods like spaghetti sauce, ravioli and vegetables; canned juice; and cereal.
