Garbage Truck Takes Out Transformers in Southington
A truck hit a pole and then transformers in Southington on Monday.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A garbage truck slammed into a utility pole and took out transformers in Southington on Monday morning, police said.
The crash took place at 8:36 a.m., in the area of 394 Pratt St., police said. The pole was holding three transformers and it snapped and fell to the ground after being hit, police said.
Southington police and firefighters personnel responded to the scene along with an Eversource Energy crew, police said.

Authorities had to close off Pratt Street \between South Woods Drive and East Johnson Avenue, police said.
No injuries were reported. The incident is still under investigation, police said.
