'Antiques Roadshow'-Like Event Coming To Southington

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The town's major art/history museum is hosting a special event that will help folks figure out just how valuable that heirloom in their collection is.

The Barnes Museum is hosting locally-based Nest Egg Auctions for "Appraisal Night" at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at the museum, 85 N. Main St.

Guests are invited to bring "an object of your choosing for a dynamic program that will include an overview of the Barnes collection, your items, and a tour of the museum," according to an announcement.

Similar to the popular PBS show "Antiques Roadshow," this event will feature experts on hand who might be able to offer a bit of insight into the history and value of that beloved family heirloom you inherited from grandma.

The program is free, but donations are gladly accepted.

In addition, folks are being asked to register for the program online, as spots are limited.
