GoodLife Fitness presents Exercise for Healthy Aging

BERLIN – It is no secret that people’s bodies age and changing physiology shapes daily activities and abilities. Exercise can be used as a tool to help prevent and fight disease and age-related decline. The free program, “Exercise for Healthy Aging,” will be held Monday, April 8, 10 a.m., at Berlin Senior Center, 33 Colonial Drive. Presenter Maquita Parker, exercise physiologist, GoodLife Fitness at Jerome Home, will discuss the role of exercise in aging well. The program is sponsored by Jerome Home.
GoodLife Fitness is an individualized exercise program geared toward the older adult to build energy, strength and endurance for an active lifestyle. An exercise physiologist works one-to-one with each person to improve muscular strength, balance, cardiovascular health and self-esteem, while reducing the risk of falls and injuries. Hartford HealthCare offers GoodLife Fitness at eight locations.
