Green Arrow: Top Reasons to Go for the Hooded Vigilante's Costume
Fans of comic book superheroes, particularly DC Comics' creations, would have no problems recognizing Green Arrow's costume anywhere. From the unique hunter green hue of the hooded vigilante's costume to the bow and arrow that completes the ensemble, it's certainly one that catches attention and encourages discussion among comic book nerds. But you don't have to be a die-hard fan to appreciate Green Arrow.

When Everyone Goes for Batman

When you think of DC's superheroes, there are two unmistakable heavyweights: Batman and Superman. And while Superman's red cape is as iconic as the symbol on his chest, many are drawn to Batman's brooding appeal...and his cool costume. You'll see variations of the predominantly black attire on different kinds of clothing, and there are bonus points if you show up to a themed event with a Batmobile to complete your look. When everyone else tries to be Batman, however, you can go against the grain and go green. Green Arrow is the logical choice if you want to stand out, but not draw unwanted attention. You get a costume that's easy to move around in, and its color is not ridiculous--making it easy to wear for more than one occasion.
Battle of the Greens
Green is not a rare color. Many superheroes have donned a green costume, including Green Lantern. The Justice League member's shade of green is lighter, however, and somewhat a bit fluorescent. It may not fit all skin colors because of its unique characteristic. You don't have the same problem with a Green Arrow costume, because, like Oliver Queen's superhero personality, you can blend in and move around with ease. Green Arrow, having spent time on an inescapable island, had nature to inspire his costume. Now all you have to do is move with purpose, just like Queen, to finish off the look.
Minimal Accessories Needed

One may think that, knowing Oliver Queen's profile as the son of a billionaire businessman, his costume would come with a lot of unnecessary bells and whistles. That would be the case if the Queen who conceptualized the Green Arrow costume was the naive playboy he once was. After spending time on the island and having his eyes opened to the real dangers that lurk in the dark, however, Queen did a complete 180 and opted out of everything superfluous. That's why you won't need hours to get his costume right, because you only need to wear the full outfit, hold a bow in your hand, and raise the hood. Queen enjoy's the sense of anonymity provided by the costume, and you can, too.
Mask is Optional
The idea behind wearing a costume is to hide the person's identity. Oliver Queen does not want to be discovered as the Green Arrow, because it would clash with how people viewed him as a person. Unlike Batman, Green Lantern, and other superheroes, however, Green Arrow's costume does not rely heavily on a mask--again thanks to his hood. Simply wear the hood and use some green eyeshadow and you're good to go.
You Can Assemble Your Own Team
Green Arrow has worked with so many superheroes and has encountered scores of villains, whether you're following the DC Comics storylines or the CW adaptation, which premiered in 2014. Get your friends to dress up as Oliver Queen's assistant Felicity Smoak, or ask someone to be your Deathstroke. Other interesting characters that could be seen with Green Arrow are Speed, Black Canary, White Canary, Atom, and the Flash. Just imagine all the fun you'll have if you get your friends to wear all those costumes. It will be a full cast, and you can even act out some scenes and upload it to YouTube! Bonus points if you know how to stage fight scenes and play fight with someone acting as R'as al Ghul.
It's common for superheroes and villains to cross over to different storylines in the DC universe. Even the show "Arrow" touched up on some of Suicide Squad's members, including Deadshot and Katana. There's also the original Team Arrow, including Arsenal and Red Hood. With all the possible team combinations to choose from, you will surely have a fun time dressing up as Green Arrow. Find the best costume and have fun being a hero for a day!
