Hartford HealthCare accepting applications for CNA program

Grant-funded program provides free fast-track to CNA certification. Begins in April. Call 860.406.9050 or email CNAtraining@hhchealth.org.

Hartford HealthCare Senior Services is accepting applications for a grant-funded six-week program for those seeking a career as a certified nursing assistant. The grant funds tuition, books, scrubs, testing and the Connecticut Certified Nurses Aide Exam. Classes will begin in April and the deadline to apply is Feb. 28.

The free program is the perfect opportunity for those seeking to start a career in healthcare or change careers. Applicants must have their high school diploma, be 18 or older and have their own transportation. Classroom education and labs are held in Southington and clinical training is held in Newington and Southington.

Acceptance into the program will be contingent upon a background check, fingerprinting, interview, physical, reference check and the application.

Grant funding was provided by Jefferson House, located at 1 John H. Stewart Drive in Newington, which offers short-term/outpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing and palliative care.
