Hartford HealthCare at Home offers free depression screenings

People with depression often feel as if they are all alone. However, more than 19 million people in the United States have depression, according to the National Institute of Mental Health. As summer wanes and days get shorter, people may feel moody or “blue,” one of the signs of seasonal affective disorder, just one type of depression.
To help individuals learn more about this serious illness, Hartford HealthCare at Home will be offering three information sessions on Thursday, Oct. 5, National Depression Screening Day. Nurses from Hartford HealthCare at Home will be available to talk individually and confidentially with people about symptoms of depression or anxiety that they may be experiencing. Discussion will also include suggestions on improving everyday moods. No appointments are necessary.
