Hartford HealthCare Senior Services presents ‘Light the World’

On Dec. 3 at Southington Care Center, people can remember and honor loved ones during a luminary ceremony. RSVP to 860.302.4906.

SOUTHINGTON – To give people the opportunity to remember and honor a loved one who has passed away or offer prayer for someone in need, three Hartford HealthCare Senior Services communities are presenting “Light the World” on Monday, Dec. 3. The Orchards at Southington, Mulberry Gardens of Southington and Southington Care Center will present this commemorative event at 6:30 p.m. at Southington Care Center, 45 Meriden Ave.

“We will come together in peace and hope to celebrate those whom we love as we light the thousands of luminaries that will engulf Southington Care Center,” said the Rev. Victoria Triano, pastoral care, Southington Care Center.

In addition to the remembrances, the program will include special music and a presentation to someone who “lights the world” with their care and compassion. People are welcome to purchase a luminary, which will be printed with the name of the person to be honored. There is a suggested donation with proceeds going toward Southington Care Center’s Pastoral Care Program, which provides ongoing spiritual care and materials to residents and families. No one will be refused from requesting a luminary for lack of funds.
