Hartford Homicide Suspect Arrested in Southington Monday
The homicide happened in May and police learned the suspect was staying in Southington.

Police arrested a Hartford homicide suspect at the Southington Motel Six on July 27.
Hartford Police responded to a shooting scene on Maple Avenue May 26 and located 26-year-old shooting victim Alexis Marrero inside Ciales Grocery store. Marrero succumbed to his injuries and died the next day.
Police developed leads that pointed them to Jonathan Contrera, 22, of Hartford as the shooter, Hartford Police said.

A warrant was signed by a judge.
Police and the U.S. Marhsals Fugtive Task Force and HPD Shooting Task Force developed leads that Contrera was staying in Southington motels.

Police appreheded Contrera at the Southington Motel Six at the door of his room without incident.
He was charged with murder and carrying a pistol without a permit. His bond amount is $1 million.
