High-End SUV Carjacked At Gas Pumps In Southington
Despite the driver's efforts to thwart a theft, a high-end sport utility vehicle was stolen at a gas station in Southington.

SOUTHINGTON, CT— A high-end sport utility vehicle was stolen early Wednesday morning in Southington while its driver was pumping gas, police said.
The carjacking occurred at 1:15 a.m., at the Exxon Station at 682 Queen Street and involved a 2014 BMW X3 police said.
The driver said she had just finished pumping gas when she saw a man climb into the driver's seat of her vehicle, according t0 a police report. The woman told police said she jumped into the passenger's side of the BMW to confront the man, but he then said he's shoot her if she did not get out of the vehicle, according to a report.

No weapon was displayed but she complied, police said. A witness described the thief as a "young white or Hispanic male" and said he was with a second male, also a white or Hispanic, according to a report.
The BMW fled the area and was sighted a short time later after by a passing a Southington Police officer near the center of town. The vehicle sped away before the officer could safely turn around and was quickly out of sight, police said.

The officer did not attempt to pursue the vehicle.
Several valuables were inside the BMW, including about $2,000 in cash, police said.
At 4:23 a.m., police recovered the vehicle in Waterbury, according tp a report. It was being processed for evidence after being bought to Southington, police said. The personal belonging were not located, police said.
