Home Care Worker Charged With Theft in Southington

A home carer worker in Southington has been charged with stealing.

SOUTHINGTON, CT – A home car worker has been charged with stealing from a client, Southington police said.

On Dec. 2, Barbara Jean Nolan, 54 of Southington, was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant, police said.

Nolan was charged with fourth-degree larceny and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond, police said.

Police said that, on Sept. 28, the victim in the case came to police headquarters to report cash and "multiple items" that had been had been stolen from his residence over a month's time.

The warrant alleges that Nolan, who had been hired at the man's home as a personal care attendant, was behaving suspiciously. Nolan allegedly stole a pair of electric guitars and sold them at a local music

Police said it also appeared that once Nolan realized there was a police investigation, she
returned to the music shop, purchased the guitars, and returned them to the victim. The guitars had an approximate value of $1,800, police said.
