I-84 East Closures Through June Announced In Southington
The state plans overnight lane and ramp closures on I-84 East in Southington–Plainville through June 5 for tree removal.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — A planned tree removal project along Interstate 84 eastbound will bring overnight lane and ramp closures in Southington and Plainville through early June, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
Work is scheduled from Monday, March 30, through Friday, June 5, along the corridor between Exit 31 in Southington and Exit 34 in Plainville.
No work will take place on holidays.

Transportation officials said the project will focus on removing dead or hazardous trees and clearing roadside areas to improve safety and reduce risks for motorists.
Lane and ramp closures are planned overnight from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Thursday.

Detours and traffic controls will be in place during work hours.
Drivers are advised to plan, follow posted signage, and use caution when traveling through the affected area.
Officials noted that the schedule is subject to change due to weather or other conditions.
