Improving balance and strength can reduce risk of falls

One in three adults over age 64 falls every year - learn how to stay on your feet at free program April 16.

WALLINGFORD - One in three adults over age 64 falls every year causing millions of injuries and thousands of deaths, according to statistics from the Centers for Disease Control. Physical therapy can improve balance through exercise and education, helping to reduce the risk of falling. A free program on this topic will be held Monday, April 16, 10 a.m., at Wallingford Senior Center, 238 Washington St. Presenter will be Sarah Bozzuto, PT, Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network, the program sponsor.
