Improving function and quality of life with comprehensive pain management

BERLIN – For some people, chronic pain can rule their life, limiting their activities and quality of life. A free program, “Improving Function and Quality of Life with Comprehensive Pain Management,” will be held Wednesday, Dec. 14, 1 to 2 p.m., at Berlin Senior Center, 33 Colonial Drive.

Facilitator Karen Larsen, RN-BC, nurse coordinator/ liaison to the Hartford Hospital Pain Treatment Center, board certified in Pain Management, will cover topics including 1) pain and treatment options by diagnosis; 2) the opioid crisis and alternative therapies; and 3) a multi-modal approach to treat pain and improve function. Hartford HealthCare Senior Services is sponsoring the program.
