Join Southington Police For Coffee Talk

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Folks looking to meet with a police officer and not have it be over a traffic stop or criminal report can do so Wednesday, Oct. 4, at a local coffee shop.

That's because the Southington Police Department is celebrating "National Coffee With a Cop Day" at the Lions Den Coffee Shop, 57 W. Main St., Plantsville.

It will take place at 9 a.m. and continue when police are available.

Basically, such events have a simple premise: get coffee and say "hello" to the men and women who work to protect your community.

Of course, if there is something that concerns you or you have something to gripe about, that's OK too.

Mostly, these informal meetings are aimed at introducing residents to the local law enforcement community and vice versa.
