Knowing how to fall safely can prevent serious injury

BERLIN – Sometimes, there's no way to avoid a fall. However, knowing how to fall correctly, whether forward or backwards, can reduce the risk or lessen the severity of injury. A free program, “How to Fall Safely,” will be held Wednesday, Oct. 17, 1 pm., at Berlin Senior Center, 33 Colonial Drive. Exercise physiologist Maquita Parker, of Jerome Home, will lead the program. Hartford HealthCare Senior Services is sponsoring.
