Last Call For Southington's Free 'Prom Shop'

Free prom attire is available Feb. 21 for Southington students at Plantsville Congregational Church.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Students preparing for prom can pick up free formalwear this weekend at the Southington Community Services Prom Shop.

The Prom Shop will be open Saturday, Feb. 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the lower level of Plantsville Congregational Church, 109 Church St., in Southington.

All items are available at no charge to Southington residents or students of Southington High School.

Students must present a driver’s license, Connecticut-issued photo ID, or school ID to shop.

Identification is required, and students must be present to try on clothing.

This weekend marks the final opportunity to visit the Prom Shop, organized by Southington Community Services.

Organizers said the program aims to help offset the cost of prom for local families.
