WEST HARTFORD – Two medical professionals will lead a free presentation on Thursday, May 19 providing an overview of Connecticut’s medical marijuana program. The event will be held 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Elmwood Senior Center, 1106 New Britain Ave. Connecticut is one of the only states that has legalized medical marijuana distributed by pharmacist-run dispensaries.

Geri Ann Bradley, who has been a Connecticut pharmacist for 28 years, and Karen Larsen, RN, pain management nurse and nurse coordinator/liaison to Hartford Hospital Pain Treatment Center, will lead the program. Bradley is pharmacist owner of The Healing Corner, a medical marijuana dispensary in Bristol. The facilitators will cover the actual registration process and elements of the law including qualifying conditions along with describing the dispensary experience. Attendees will learn about the different dosage forms available and varieties of marijuana as well. Hartford HealthCare Senior Services is sponsoring this program.

Complimentary lunch is provided. Space is limited; reservations required. To RSVP, call Elmwood Senior Center, 860.561.8167.
