​ Learn how to prevent injury when falling

WALLINGFORD – As people age, it can become more difficult to maintain balance and falls can become more common, leading to serious injury and further complications. However, knowing how to fall the correct way forwards or backwards can reduce the risk or lessen the severity of injury. A free program, “How to Fall Safely,” will be held Wednesday, Aug. 14, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., at Wallingford Senior Center, 238 Washington St. Presenter will be Christine Solimini-Swift, exercise physiologist, GoodLife Fitness at The Orchards at Southington, program sponsor.
