Learn about the role of hydration in supporting good health
With all this heat, are you dehydrated? Hydration is vital year round. Free program Wed., July 31, 10a, West Hartford Snr Ctr. 860.561.7583.

WEST HARTFORD - With the body primarily composed of water, hydration is vital to maintaining optimum health. Water controls body temperature, heart rate and blood pressure as well as removes waste. Without adequate water, the body’s organs can shut down and an individual can experience anxiety, confusion, sleepiness, rapid breathing and increased pulse among additional problems.
A free program, “Staying Hydrated,” will be held Wednesday, July 31, 10 a.m., at West Hartford Senior Center, 15 Starkel Road. Topics include the importance of hydration, its impact on the body, common myths, and how to identify signs and combat dehydration. Presenter will be Kaitlin Cuas, RN, MSN, transitional care nurse, Hartford HealthCare Center for Healthy Aging, which is the program sponsor.
Seating is limited and registration is required. To RSVP, call West Hartford Senior Center, 860.561.7583.
