LISA, Inc., a division of Community Solutions, Inc., stands for “Living In Safe Alternatives” and assists youth in the care of the Department of Children and Families while helping them transition back into the community.
The non-profit is seeking donations of new or quality used clothing items for men and women 17 or older to benefit those in their programs locally and in Rhode Island and Delaware. Items in need include coats in sizes small through XXXL, hats, gloves, adults boot in sizes 6 to 13 and scarves.

A collection bin has been set up in the office lobby of LISA, Inc.’s Southington location at 200 Executive Boulevard. People can make drop-offs between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday and Sunday.
Elizabeth Hyatt, director of communication with Community Solutions, Inc./LISA, Inc., said that people who come to LISA, Inc. often do so with only the clothing on their backs. This donation, she said, will go a long way to helping them, especially with cold weather on the way.
“For some people, it is standard to have a variety of coats in their closet and for others they don't have one and it’s a real luxury item to have,” she said. “We want to try to help spread warmth to all of our clients.”
Hyatt said that the community has “always been generous” to help provide care and basic need items.
“Last year we generated over 3,000 dollars in gently used clothing items,” she said. “We collected hundreds of items.”
Hyatt said that any donations would be appreciated.
“Even just one coat or pair of gloves or hat is something someone doesn't have that they can benefit from having,” she said. “These donations can make a big difference.”
LISA, Inc. is also providing an option for people to donate while socially distanced. People can do so by visiting csi-online.org/donate.
